New Holland ARMRE 1119 – ARM: RECORD/PLAY switch is failed

The Armrest Controller detects an illogical state from the Headland Turn Sequencing (HTS) switch, specifically that both the HTS RECORD and HTS PLAY circuits are closed at the same time.

   Connect the electronic service tool (EST) and open the MONITOR window. Select 'Armrest HTS Record/Play Switch' to observe the live state of the switch over the Tractor Data Bus

   Inspect the wiring harness between the second panel and the controller for pinched wires or shorts to ground/voltage that would cause both circuits to read as closed

   Inspect the connector ends for damaged, bent, pushed-back, or corroded pins

   Unplug the switch and test it with a multimeter to see if it is internally shorted (showing continuity on both the Record and Play poles simultaneously)

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery ground to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Switch

   Disassemble the armrest console to access the 'second panel' where the HTS Record/Play switch is mounted.

   Disconnect and Inspect

   Unplug the switch connector.

   Replace Component

   If the diagnostic tests proved the switch is internally shorted, remove the retaining clips or screws holding the switch in the panel, pop the old switch out, and install the new HTS Record/Play switch.

   Address Wiring/Controller

   If the switch tested fine, repair the shorted wiring harness between the panel and the ARM. If the wiring is also intact, the Armrest Controller itself has failed and must be replaced.

   Reassembly and Clearing Codes

   Reconnect the switch, reassemble the armrest panel, and reconnect the battery. Cycle the key switch, operate the tractor, and use the service tool or dash display to clear the fault code and verify it does not return.
