ARMRE 1129

New Holland ARMRE 1129 – ARM (Armrest Controller / Armrest Module): Invalid Configuration - Implement Depth Control switch is failed.

Issue description

The controller detects an illogical state, an invalid configuration, or a hardware failure regarding the implement depth control switch. This is often thrown because the tractor's system is not configured for this feature, but the controller detects a signal (or a miscalibration) on the circuit.

  • New Holland 70 Series

Check the cause

  1. Verify if the implement depth control feature is actually equipped and available for your specific tractor build

  2. Open the armrest controller housing and inspect Connector J205

  3. Check for erroneous connections at connector J205 (e.g., a potentiometer accidentally connected during calibration on a tractor not equipped with the feature)

  4. If the tractor is equipped with the feature, inspect the wiring harness leading from the armrest to the implement depth control potentiometer for shorts to ground or open circuits

Repair steps

  1. Access the Armrest Module

Disconnect battery power, then open the armrest console to access the ARM controller.

  2. Clear Invalid Configurations

If the tractor is not supposed to have this feature, unplug any rogue connections at Connector J205.

  3. Recalibrate the Hitch

Whether you removed an incorrect connection or replaced a faulty switch, you must perform the armrest hitch control calibration. Access the instrumentation controller (Display/Monitor) and navigate to the Hitch Menu Calibration to overwrite the invalid configuration.

  4. Replace the Switch (If Equipped and Failed)

If the tractor uses Implement Depth Control and the wiring is intact, the potentiometer itself has failed internally. Remove the faulty electronic lift control potentiometer from the armrest/linkage assembly and install the replacement part.

  5. Final Calibration

Run the EDC (Electronic Draft Control) and hitch calibration procedures again to marry the new potentiometer's voltage range to the ARM controller.
