New Holland ARMRE 18028 – Armrest Control Module (ACM): EHR 5 lever position - voltage too high

The signal voltage coming from the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) #5 lever potentiometer has exceeded the maximum acceptable threshold. If the tractor is not physically equipped with a 5th EHR lever, it indicates incorrect configuration of the ACM.

   Verify ACM Configuration: Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to check Config B/b 5.3 - EHR 5 lever position. If the tractor does not have a 5th remote lever, the configuration is incorrect.

   Inspect Wiring: If equipped with an EHR 5 lever, inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the EHR 5 lever potentiometer and the ACM for a short to a 5V/12V power source or an open ground circuit.

   Attempt Calibration: Try to recalibrate the armrest controls through the A-post display or EST to see if the module can relearn the potentiometer's voltage range.

   Test the Potentiometer: If calibration fails or the voltage remains pegged high, the potentiometer has likely failed internally.

   Correct Configuration (If Applicable)

   If the tractor lacks an EHR 5 lever, use the EST to reconfigure the ACM to match the tractor's actual hydraulic remote setup. Clear the code.

   Access the Armrest

   If the potentiometer is faulty, power down the tractor and disassemble the armrest console to access the underside of the EHR lever bank.

   Remove the Faulty Sensor

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the EHR 5 lever potentiometer/switch assembly. Unbolt or unclip the faulty potentiometer from the lever housing.

   Install the New Part

   Install the replacement potentiometer and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Reassemble

   Carefully reassemble the armrest console, ensuring no wires are pinched.

   Calibrate

   Turn the key on and enter the armrest calibration mode (via the A-post or EST). You must perform the lever calibration procedure so the ACM can learn the exact voltage values for the new potentiometer's neutral, extend, and retract positions.
