New Holland ARMRE 18029 – ACM: EHR 6 lever position - voltage too low

The Armrest Control Module (ACM) is receiving a signal voltage from the 6th Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) control lever potentiometer that is below the minimum expected threshold. This indicates an open circuit, a short to ground, or a failed internal potentiometer. If the tractor is not physically equipped with a 6th rear remote valve, this code indicates the ACM is incorrectly configured and looking for a sensor that does not exist.

   Verify Machine Configuration: Count the physical remote valves on the rear of the tractor. If the machine only has 3, 4, or 5 remotes, the ACM configuration is incorrect and needs to be updated. No parts replacement is necessary.

   Inspect Wiring & Connectors: If the tractor does have a 6th remote, remove the armrest console cover. Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector going to the #6 EHR lever for backed-out pins, corrosion, or pinched wires.

   Voltage & Ground Check: Using a multimeter, verify that the lever is receiving the 5V reference signal and has a good ground from the ACM.

   Potentiometer Sweep Test: Back-probe the signal wire while moving the lever back and forth. The voltage should transition smoothly. If the voltage stays near 0V or drops out entirely, the lever's internal potentiometer has failed.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   If it is a configuration issue: Connect the OEM diagnostic tool (Electronic Service Tool - EST).

   Navigate to ACM settings

   Navigate to the Armrest Control Module (ACM) configuration settings.

   Update configuration

   Update the configuration to match the actual number of installed remote valves.

   Save and clear

   Save the configuration, cycle the key, and clear the fault code.

   Power off and disconnect battery

   If the EHR Lever has failed: Power off the machine and disconnect the battery ground.

   Disassemble armrest console

   Disassemble the right-hand armrest console cover to access the EHR lever block.

   Locate faulty lever

   Locate the #6 EHR lever (levers are modular and color-coded).

   Disconnect electrical connector

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty lever.

   Remove retaining hardware

   Remove the retaining hardware/clips securing the lever to the armrest assembly.

    Install replacement lever

    Install the replacement EHR lever and secure it.

    Reassemble armrest console

    Reconnect the electrical harness and reassemble the armrest console.

    Reconnect the battery and power on the tractor.

    Perform a remote valve and armrest calibration via the tractor's display monitor (ICP) or the dealer diagnostic tool to ensure the new lever's full travel range is learned by the ACM.
