New Holland ARMRE 18042 – Armrest Controller: EHR 2 lever position - voltage too low
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the voltage signal coming from the potentiometer (sensor) for the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) valve #2 control lever is falling below the minimum acceptable threshold. This typically points to an open circuit, a short to ground, or a complete internal failure of the potentiometer inside the armrest lever assembly.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the physical condition of the EHR 2 lever on the armrest for excessive physical play or broken plastic components.
Remove the armrest cover and inspect the wiring harness and connector going to the EHR 2 lever for loose connections, backed-out pins, or chafed wires causing a short to ground.
Use a multimeter to verify that the potentiometer is receiving its 5V reference voltage and has a good ground from the armrest controller.
Attempt to recalibrate the armrest controller and EHR levers via the A-post instrument cluster or main display monitor. If the controller cannot read the lever's movement, calibration will fail, confirming a dead potentiometer.
Repair steps
Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery.
Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery.
Remove the retaining screws for the armrest console cover to access the underside of the EHR control levers.
Remove the retaining screws for the armrest console cover to access the underside of the EHR control levers.
Locate the EHR 2 lever assembly and disconnect its electrical harness connector.
Locate the EHR 2 lever assembly and disconnect its electrical harness connector.
Remove the mounting hardware/clips securing the EHR 2 lever to the armrest frame.
Remove the mounting hardware/clips securing the EHR 2 lever to the armrest frame.
Install the replacement EHR lever/potentiometer assembly into the armrest and secure it.
Install the replacement EHR lever/potentiometer assembly into the armrest and secure it.
Reconnect the electrical harness and reinstall the armrest cover.
Reconnect the electrical harness and reinstall the armrest cover.
Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition key to the ON position.
Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition key to the ON position.
Perform the armrest EHR lever calibration procedure.
Access the calibration menu through the tractor's display. The system will prompt you to move the new lever to the full extend, full retract, and neutral positions so the controller can learn the new potentiometer's voltage parameters.
