New Holland ARMRE 18044 – ARMRE / ARU (Arm Rest Module / Armrest Controller): EHR 3 lever position - voltage too low
Issue description
Signal voltage from the potentiometer inside the Electronic Hitch Relief (EHR) / remote valve control lever #3 has dropped below the minimum acceptable threshold. This condition is typically caused by an open circuit, a short to ground, or a failed potentiometer inside the lever switch itself.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- T6 Series (T6010, T6020, T6030, T6040, T6050, T6060, T6070)
- T7 Series (T7.170, T7.185, T7.200, T7.220, T7.235, T7.250, T7.260, T7.270)
- T8 Series (T8.320, T8.415)
- T9 Series
- TG Series (TG245)
Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector leading to the EHR 3 lever inside the armrest for pinched wires, open circuits, or shorts to ground.
Temporarily swap the EHR 3 lever connection with an adjacent lever (like EHR 2 or EHR 4) to see if the fault code follows the lever or stays with the circuit.
Attempt to run the armrest calibration procedure through the A-post / instrument cluster display to relearn the potentiometer voltage limits.
Repair steps
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Remove the retaining screws and cover panels on the right-hand electronic armrest console to access the internal EHR control levers.
Locate the EHR 3 control lever/switch assembly and disconnect its wiring harness connector.
Unbolt or unclip the faulty EHR 3 lever potentiometer from the armrest mounting bracket.
Install the replacement control lever/potentiometer and secure it in place.
Reconnect the electrical harness and reassemble the armrest console.
Reconnect the battery.
Turn the key on and enter the tractor's calibration menu (via the A-post or instrument cluster).
You MUST perform the EHR lever calibration procedure so the Armrest Controller can learn the voltage range of the new potentiometer.
