New Holland ARMRE 18056 – Armrest Controller Module (ACM): Joystick 2 X-axis position - voltage too high

The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the X-axis potentiometer of the second joystick that exceeds the normal operating parameters. This is not applicable to CCM/APH and may indicate incorrect configuration of the ACM.

   Verify ACM configuration using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to ensure the module is not incorrectly programmed to look for a non-existent second joystick

   Inspect the H4 connectors on the armrest controller and the wiring harness between Joystick 2 and the armrest for corrosion, backed-out pins, or damage

   Test the X-axis signal wire for a short to a power source (such as a 12V or 5V reference line) or an open ground connection

   Back-probe the joystick connector to monitor the X-axis voltage sweep and verify if the internal potentiometer has failed (voltage stuck high)

   Verify and reconfigure ACM

   Connect the diagnostic tool and verify the ACM configuration. If the configuration is incorrect, reconfigure the module to match the tractor's actual equipment.

   Repair wiring harness

   If the configuration is correct, disconnect the battery and repair any shorts or open grounds found in the armrest wiring harness.

   Replace joystick or armrest controller

   If the wiring is intact and the joystick itself is faulty, replace the joystick component or the entire armrest controller assembly (depending on the specific model's modularity).

   Calibrate joystick

   Reconnect the battery, clear the inactive fault codes, and perform a joystick calibration procedure to ensure the ACM learns the new component's minimum and maximum voltage values.
