New Holland ARMRE 18060 – Armrest Control Module (ACM): Joystick 2 proportional rocker switch - voltage too high
Issue description
The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the proportional rocker switch on Joystick 2 that exceeds the maximum expected threshold. This typically indicates a short circuit to power, an open ground circuit, an internal failure of the switch's potentiometer, or a software configuration mismatch.

Check the cause
Verify ACM configuration using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or in-cab display to ensure it matches the installed hardware (incorrect configuration is a common cause)
Access switch diagnostics via the field computer or display to monitor the live input state of the Joystick 2 rocker switch
Check the signal wire for a short to a 12V or 5V reference power source
Check the switch ground circuit for high resistance or an open circuit
Repair steps
Check Software First
Connect the diagnostic tool (EST) and navigate to the Armrest Control Module settings. Verify the hardware configuration. If the ACM is configured for a proportional rocker switch that your machine does not have, correct the configuration, save, and clear the code.
Isolate the Circuit
If the configuration is correct, turn off the machine and disconnect the battery.
Inspect Wiring
Open the armrest console to access the wiring harness for the Multi-Function Handle (MFH) / Joystick 2. Inspect the harness for chafing, pinched wires, or damaged connector pins. Repair any damaged wiring.
Test the Switch
If the wiring is intact, test the proportional rocker switch itself. If it has failed internally (shorted), it must be replaced.
Replace Components
Replace the faulty proportional rocker switch. Note that on many New Holland Multi-Function Handles, individual switches are not serviced separately, requiring the replacement of the joystick assembly.
Calibrate and Clear
Reassemble the armrest, reconnect the battery, and perform a basic assurance test or calibration via the display to ensure the new switch is recognized and sweeping within the correct voltage range. Clear the fault code.
