New Holland ARMRE 18068 – Armrest Module: EHR 3 lever implausibility error
Issue description
The electronic signal coming from the Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) control lever #3 is implausible. The system is detecting conflicting, out-of-range, or erratic voltage signals from the lever's internal sensors (potentiometers), meaning the controller cannot accurately determine the lever's physical position (extend, retract, or neutral).
Applies to these machines
4 machines- T6 Series
- T7 Series
- T8 Series
- T9 Series
Check the cause
Check EHR lever #3 for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing smooth movement.
Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the base of the EHR 3 lever inside the armrest for loose pins, corrosion, or wire chafing.
Enter the tractor's H-Menu (specifically the H9 menu for switch and sensor tests) or use the diagnostic display to monitor the live voltage/potentiometer readings of the EHR 3 lever as it moves. Look for dead spots or erratic voltage jumps.
Swap the EHR 3 lever with an adjacent, known-good lever (like EHR 1 or 2). If the fault code changes to the new position (e.g., becomes 18066 for EHR 1 or 18067 for EHR 2), the lever itself has failed. If the code remains 18068, the issue is in the armrest wiring harness or the Armrest Control Module itself.
Repair steps
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery
to prevent electrical shorts.
Remove the retaining screws and carefully lift the top cover of the electronic armrest console
to access the EHR control levers.
Locate EHR lever #3 and disconnect its electrical wiring harness connector
(the OEM lever includes a wire harness and four terminals).
Remove the mounting hardware
(typically 4 mounting holes/screws) securing the faulty lever to the armrest chassis.
Remove the old lever and install the replacement lever
securing it with the mounting screws.
Reconnect the electrical harness
to the new lever.
Reassemble the armrest cover
Reconnect the battery and turn on the tractor
Clear the stored fault codes and perform an EHR lever calibration procedure
via the tractor's display to ensure the Armrest Module learns the new lever's neutral, extend, and retract limits.
