New Holland ARMRE 18070 – Armrest Control Module (ACM): EHR 5 lever implausibility error (not applicable to CCM/APH _it may indicate incorrect configuration of the ACM)

The controller is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or conflicting signal from the Electronic Hitch Relief (EHR) / remote valve lever #5. This fault frequently triggers when the tractor's software is configured to look for a 5th remote lever that is not physically installed on the machine.

   Verify if the tractor's armrest is physically equipped with a 5th EHR remote valve lever

2. 2

   Connect the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) and verify the ACM configuration parameters match the physical hardware

   Attempt to calibrate the armrest controller and EHR levers via the A-post instrument cluster or EST

   If the 5th lever is present, check the lever's potentiometer for smooth resistance changes and verify it is receiving a proper 5-volt reference signal

   Correct the Software Configuration (If no 5th lever is present)

   Connect the New Holland EST diagnostic laptop to the tractor. Navigate to the ACM (Armrest Control Module) configuration settings. Locate the parameter for the EHR 5 lever (e.g., Config B/b 5.3). Change the configuration to disable the 5th lever, save the settings, and clear the fault code.

   Replace the EHR Lever (If the 5th lever is present and faulty)

   Power down the machine and disconnect the battery. Disassemble the armrest console to access the underside of the EHR control levers. Disconnect the electrical connector for the EHR 5 lever. Remove the retaining hardware holding the faulty EHR lever/potentiometer in place and remove the switch. Install the new OEM EHR lever switch and reconnect the wiring harness. Reassemble the armrest console.

   Post-Repair Calibration

   Turn the key on and enter the armrest calibration mode (via the A-post or EST). Walk through the calibration steps, taking the new lever to the full extend, full retract, and neutral positions so the ACM learns the new potentiometer's min/max voltage values. Clear the fault codes and test the remote valve operation.
