New Holland ARMRE 18072 – ARMRE: EDC mouse raise/work switch fault (NH Only)

The Electronic Draft Control (EDC) "mouse" is the ergonomic control pod located on the operator's armrest, used to adjust the 3-point hitch/linkage height and depth. This fault indicates an electrical issue (such as a short, open circuit, or mechanical failure) specifically within the "raise/work" switch on this mouse, which is the fast-linkage button used to quickly raise or lower an implement during headland turns.

   Inspect the fast linkage raise/lower switch on the EDC mouse for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing the button from returning to its neutral position.

   Access the wiring harness beneath the armrest trim. Inspect the electrical connector linking the EDC mouse to the Armrest Module (ARU) for loose pins, corrosion, or wire chafing.

   Use the tractor's onboard diagnostic display or a dealer service tool to monitor the switch inputs. Press the raise/work switch to see if the module registers a change in state. If the state does not change but the wiring is intact, the switch/mouse is internally faulty.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts while working on the armrest module.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws securing the plastic housing/trim around the Command Arm console.

   Remove the EDC Mouse

   Carefully lift the EDC mouse pod from its mounting position.

   Disconnect Harness

   Unplug the main electrical connector from the bottom of the EDC mouse.

   Replace or Repair

   The raise/work switch is typically integrated into the EDC mouse circuit board. You must either replace the entire EDC Command Unit or send the defective unit to an agricultural electronics repair specialist (e.g., Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) for a board-level rebuild.

   Reassembly

   Plug the wiring harness into the new/repaired EDC mouse, seat it back into the armrest, and reinstall the housing trim.

   Calibration/Clearing

   Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and clear the inactive fault codes. Test the fast raise/lower function of the 3-point hitch to verify the repair.
