New Holland ARMRE 19 – ARM (Armrest Controller): Hand THROTTLE potentiometer is failed

The electronic signal from the hand throttle potentiometer is either out of range, shorted, open, or the dual-channel signals do not agree with each other. This prevents the tractor from accurately determining the operator's requested engine speed via the hand lever.

   Check for related fault codes (3124/3126, 3125/3127, 3128, ARM 4040) that might pinpoint the electrical fault.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the hand throttle inside the armrest console for chafing, loose pins, or corrosion.

   Attempt to recalibrate the hand throttle via the tractor's diagnostic menu. If calibration fails (throws code ARM 9031), the potentiometer is physically defective.

   Access the Assembly

   Open the armrest console to access the underside of the hand throttle lever assembly.

   Remove the Knob

   Remove the M4 x 8 screw holding the hand throttle knob and pull the knob off.

   Dismount the Potentiometer

   Remove the two M4 x 35 mounting screws and locknuts that secure the potentiometer to the throttle lever mechanism.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the failed potentiometer.

   Remove Hardware

   Slide out the old potentiometer. Take care not to lose the associated bushing, flat washer, and O-ring (1.176" ID x .070" thick) if they are being reused.

   Install the New Part

   Fit the new potentiometer into the assembly, ensuring the bushing and O-ring are seated correctly to prevent dust/debris intrusion. Secure it with the mounting screws.

   Recalibrate

   Enter the tractor's H-Menu / Calibration mode and perform the Hand Throttle Calibration procedure. The Armrest Controller needs to learn the new minimum (idle) and maximum (full throttle) voltage values of the new potentiometer.
