New Holland ARMRE 59 – Armrest Controller: Aux 4th remote valve LEVER potentiometer is failed.

The potentiometer (sensor) that reads the physical position of the 4th auxiliary hydraulic remote lever in the cab armrest has failed, has an open/short circuit, or is sending an out-of-range signal to the controller. This usually results in the disabling of that specific remote valve for safety.

   Remove the armrest cover and inspect the wiring harness connecting to the 4th remote valve lever for pinched wires, chafing, or disconnected plugs.

   Unplug the connector at the 4th remote lever potentiometer and check for bent pins, corrosion, or debris.

   With the key ON, use a multimeter to verify that the potentiometer is receiving the standard 5V reference signal and has a good ground from the Armrest Controller.

   If the wiring harness allows, temporarily swap the electrical connector from the 3rd remote lever to the 4th remote lever. If the fault code shifts to the 3rd remote, the potentiometer in the 4th lever is definitively internally failed.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery ground cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws holding the top cover/bezel of the armrest console to expose the remote lever modules.

   Remove the Failed Lever

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the 4th remote valve lever. Unbolt the retaining screws holding the specific lever assembly in place and pull it out of the armrest.

   Install the New Part

   Seat the new remote lever potentiometer assembly into the armrest slot, secure it with the retaining screws, and plug in the electrical connector.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the armrest cover and reconnect the battery.

   Calibration

   Perform an Electro-Hydraulic Remote Valve Lever Calibration via the A-post instrument cluster display or IntelliView monitor. Cycle the lever fully forward to the float/extend position, and fully backward to the retract position so the Armrest Controller can learn the new minimum and maximum voltage values.
