Check the cause
Verify the calibration procedure was performed correctly and both high and low idle positions are valid.
Inspect the physical assembly of the hand throttle lever and potentiometer for restrictions or being pushed out of normal range.
Verify the Armrest Controller's power supply and ground connections, as poor connections can skew voltage readings.
Rule out a memory defect or an intermittent failure within the Armrest Controller itself.
Repair steps
Visual Inspection
Inspect the hand throttle lever assembly on the armrest for any physical damage, loose components, or debris blocking its full range of motion.
Electrical Testing
Test the wiring harness between the hand throttle potentiometer and the Armrest Controller for continuity, shorts to ground, or voltage drops.
Verify Controller Voltage
Test the power and ground pins at the Armrest Controller to ensure it is receiving stable voltage.
Replace Potentiometer
If the wiring and controller power are good, but the potentiometer is reading out of the acceptable voltage range at the high or low idle stops, remove and replace the hand throttle potentiometer.
Recalibrate
After repairing the wiring or replacing the potentiometer, re-run the ARM THROTTLE calibration procedure. Ensure you smoothly move the lever to the absolute high idle and low idle positions when prompted by the instrumentation display.
