New Holland DCU 19361 – DCU (Dosing Control Unit): Battery voltage evaluation - below lower limit

A malfunction in the battery voltage evaluation circuit indicating that the actual battery voltage supplied to the module is outside of expected operating parameters (System Voltage Low).

   Test the actual battery voltage at the battery posts and verify the alternator's charging output to rule out a dying battery or failing alternator.

   Measure the supply voltage directly at the DCU wiring harness connector (specifically terminal pins 3 and 4, depending on the exact machine schematic).

   Check the wiring harness between the battery/power distribution center and the DCU for open circuits, chafing, or broken wires.

   Inspect the DCU connectors for water ingress, bent pins, or corrosion, which can cause high resistance and a localized voltage drop.

   Test the DCU main power relay and associated fuses for intermittent failure or corrosion.

   Power down safely

   Turn the ignition key to the 'LOCK' position and wait for at least one minute before using the battery disconnect switch. This allows the DCU to properly save vehicle data and power down its internal actuator.

   Repair wiring and connections

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a voltage drop, repair the damaged wiring harness or replace the corroded connector terminals. Replace any blown fuses or faulty DCU main relays.

   Test the system

   Reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes, and cycle the key to see if DCU 19361 returns.

   Replace the DCU

   If the power supply circuit is fully intact, providing the correct voltage under load directly to the module, but the DCU still logs code 19361 / P0562, the internal voltage sensing circuit of the DCU has failed. The Dosing Control Unit must be replaced.

   Perform software calibration

   Install the new DCU. A new module requires software installation and calibration using the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) before the machine will clear the codes and operate correctly.
