The Dosing Control Unit (DCU) is experiencing a CAN communication error over the SAE J1939 data link, specifically receiving an invalid, missing, or out-of-range signal regarding the UREA (DEF) quantity in the tank.

   Verify the DEF tank is not empty and that the fluid is not frozen or heavily crystallized, which can cause false sensor readings.

   Check for accompanying fault codes (such as 19415, 19649, 19650, or 19651) that might pinpoint the failure to the tank level sensor circuit.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the DEF tank header (level/temperature sending unit) and the DCU for chafed wires, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.

   Use a multimeter to test the SAE J1939 CAN bus lines for proper voltage and verify the network has the standard 60-ohm terminating resistance.

   Refill and Reset

   Fill the DEF tank with fresh, uncontaminated Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool and cycle the ignition to see if the DCU 19577 code returns.

   Repair Harness

   If the code returns, trace the CAN wiring from the DEF tank sending unit to the DCU. Repair any broken wires or replace corroded connector pigtails.

   Test/Replace DEF Tank Header

   If the wiring is intact but the 'UREA quantity not in range' message persists, the DEF tank level sensor (integrated into the DEF head unit) has likely failed internally. Replace the DEF tank head unit.

   Replace the DCU

   If the tank sensor is outputting the correct signal but the DCU still fails to process the CAN frame (P0600 communication failure), the Dosing Control Unit itself has failed. Replace the DEF Dosing Module.
