New Holland DCU 19597 – DCU (Dosing Control Unit): CAN receive frame EEC1 (Driver demand, eng speed, eng torque) _timeout _P0600 Serial Communication Link

The Dosing Control Unit (DCU) has timed out while waiting to receive the 'EEC1' data packet over the CAN bus network from the Engine Control Module (ECM).

   Inspect the CAN wiring harness and connectors between the Engine Control Module (ECM) and the Dosing Control Unit (DCU) for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins

   With the batteries disconnected, measure the resistance across the CAN High and CAN Low pins at the DCU connector (should read approximately 60 ohms)

   Check for other active CAN timeout codes (such as DCU 19596, 19598, or 19599) which would indicate a broader network failure or an ECM configuration issue

   Verify the ECM is properly configured to broadcast the EEC1 signal

   Isolate the Wiring

   Disconnect the machine's batteries. Disconnect the harness at both the ECM and the DCU.

   Perform Continuity Testing

   Pin-test the CAN High and CAN Low wires between the two modules. Repair any broken wires or replace damaged connector terminals.

   Check Power and Ground

   Verify the DCU is receiving proper battery voltage and has a clean ground connection, as low voltage can cause the module to drop off the CAN network.

   Clear and Retest

   Reconnect all modules, power up the machine, and use the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the inactive codes. Run the engine to see if DCU 19597 returns.

   Replace the DCU

   If the wiring harness, power, and grounds are all verified as good, but the DCU still fails to communicate on the network, the DCU has suffered an internal hardware failure and must be replaced.

   Program the New Module

   Install the new DCU. Connect the CNH EST laptop to flash the module with the correct software for the specific tractor/combine model before it will function.
