DCU 19723

New Holland DCU 19723 – DCU (Dosing Control Unit): EEPROM / Checksum failures | EEPROM communication error | P062F Internal Control Module EEPROM Error

Issue description

This code indicates a critical internal hardware or software failure within the control module. Specifically, the module's Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) is failing to read/write data properly, or the checksums (data verification values) do not match.

Applies to these machines

  • T6
  • T7
  • T7.220
  • T7.235
  • T7.250
  • T7.260
  • T7.270
  • T7.340
  • T8
  • T9
  • FR Series
  • FR450
  • FR500
  • FR600

Check the cause

  1. Verify if the fault is currently active or stored; intermittent faults may be caused by a voltage drop

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors going to the DCU for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins

  3. Verify that the DCU is receiving stable battery voltage and has a clean ground, as voltage spikes or severe drops during engine cranking can cause EEPROM write errors

  4. Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to check for software updates; reflashing the DCU with an updated software payload may resolve checksum errors

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical arcing.

  2. Locate the DCU

Locate the Dosing Control Unit / DeNOx Supply Module (typically mounted near the DEF tank or exhaust aftertreatment assembly).

  3. Removal

Disconnect the multi-pin electrical connectors. If the DCU is integrated into the DEF supply pump module, disconnect the DEF fluid lines (be prepared to catch residual fluid). Remove the mounting bolts and extract the unit.

  4. Installation

Mount the replacement DCU and reconnect all fluid lines and electrical connectors.

  5. Programming

Use the CNH EST (Electronic Service Tool) to install the software payload. A new DCU is shipped blank or requires machine-specific calibration.

  6. Validation

Clear all fault codes and run a DEF dosing system test via the service tool to verify proper operation.
