The EEPROM inside the control module has failed a checksum verification or cannot be detected. This indicates that the data has become corrupted or that the physical memory chip within the module has failed.

   Check battery voltage, ground connections, and the K15 (ignition 'ON') signal circuit at the DCU harness for sudden power loss or voltage spikes

   Ensure the main power relay is not shutting off too early or too late, which can interrupt the module's data-writing process

   Prepare to attempt a new download of the dedicated data set using the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST)

   Inspect Wiring

   Disconnect the DCU harness and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture intrusion, or damage. Verify stable voltage on the power supply pins.

   Re-Program the DCU

   Using the CNH EST diagnostic software, attempt to re-flash the Dosing Control Unit.

   Evaluate

   If the module accepts the flash and the code clears, the issue was software corruption (often caused by a bad battery or disconnecting the battery before the DCU powered down).

   Replace Module

   If the EEPROM error persists, or if the module refuses the software flash, the internal memory chip is permanently damaged ('internal failure of ECU'). The DCU must be replaced.

   Calibrate New Module

   Install the replacement DCU. You must use the CNH EST to install the software onto the blank module and perform an SCR system calibration.
