New Holland DCU 19725 – DCU: EEPROM / Checksum failures | Wrong EEPROM size | Internal Control Module EEPROM Error

The non-volatile memory (EEPROM) inside the control module has failed its internal self-test. The module detected that the memory size is incorrect, the data is corrupted, or the checksums do not match expected values.

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to determine if the fault is active or stored. A stored, inactive fault may have been caused by a temporary voltage drop.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the DCU. Ensure the module is receiving proper voltage and has a clean ground, as voltage spikes or poor grounds during engine cranking can cause temporary EEPROM read/write errors.

   Check if there is a software update or reflash available for the DCU. A software re-flash can sometimes overwrite the corrupted EEPROM sector and resolve the checksum error.

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the machine's battery to prevent electrical arcing.

   Locate the Dosing Control Unit.

   Often integrated into or mounted adjacent to the Bosch DeNOx DEF supply module/pump assembly.

   Disconnect the electrical harnesses from the DCU.

   Unbolt and remove the faulty DCU.

   Install the replacement DCU and reconnect the wiring harnesses.

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to install the operating software.

   A new DCU is shipped blank. CNH typically requires troubleshooting to be completed and logged via their ASSIST portal before they will issue the passwords required to unlock and flash a new emissions controller.
