Issue description
This code indicates a malfunction in the compressed air regulation valve circuit within the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) emissions system. Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading from the DCU to the compressed air regulation valve for chafed wires, melted insulation, or damage from debris
Disconnect the harness at the valve and the DCU to ensure connectors are not damaged, pins are not pushed back or corroded, and the fit is tight
Use a multimeter to check for continuity between the DCU pins and the valve connector pins
Check for a short to ground or a short to power (12V/5V) on the valve's signal and supply wires
Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the pins of the compressed air regulation valve coil (infinite reading indicates an open internal coil, 0 indicates a dead short)
Ensure the air supply lines to the dosing unit are not kinked, blocked by crystallized DEF, or leaking
Repair steps
Clear and Verify
Connect your CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or equivalent diagnostic scanner. Record the fault, clear the code, and cycle the key to see if the code returns immediately (indicating a hard electrical fault) or during operation (indicating a functional/pressure fault).
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks reveal a broken wire or short in the harness, repair the affected section of the wiring harness or replace the pigtail connector.
Clean the System
If the valve is mechanically stuck due to DEF crystallization, carefully clean the dosing unit and mixing chamber with warm distilled water (do not use harsh chemicals on DEF components).
Replace the Valve
