New Holland EHR 4150 – EHR (Electronic Hitch / Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear Remote No.4 - Open Center Position Not Reached

The spool inside the electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) valve for rear remote #4 is failing to return to its neutral, open-center, or float position.

   Check if the spool is physically stuck due to mechanical binding or debris by stroking it manually or via cab controls.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector going to Rear Remote No. 4 for corrosion, bent pins, or wire chafing.

   Check if the valve has simply lost its calibration parameters.

   Use a diagnostic tool to monitor the voltage/signal from the position transducer on Remote No. 4 to see if it is reading out of range or shorting out.

   Clear Debris

   Actuate the remote valve #4 back and forth repeatedly to clear any potential contaminants from the spool.

   Recalibrate the Valve

   Access the tractor's display monitor (e.g., IntelliView) or use the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST). Navigate to the EHR remote valve configuration/calibration menu. Select Remote Valve #4 and initiate the calibration process.

   Replace the Valve Section

   If the valve fails calibration, or if the internal position transducer/driver is faulty, the electro-hydraulic remote valve section must be replaced. The electronic head and spool are often serviced as a single unit.

   Reprogram the Valve Address

   Use the diagnostic display to reassign the valve's address (programming it to recognize itself as Valve No. 4) so it communicates correctly on the CAN-bus.

   Final Calibration

   Once the new valve is installed and addressed, perform a final calibration to learn the spool travel limits.
