New Holland EHR 4152 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear Remote No.4 - Output Stage Faulty

The controller has detected an electrical fault in the output stage (the internal driver circuit) that sends the command signal to the #4 rear remote valve. This is typically caused by an open circuit, a short circuit in the wiring, a failed solenoid/powerhead on the valve, or a burnt-out driver inside the control module itself.

   Perform the swap test: exchange the wiring connections between the #4 remote valve powerhead/solenoid and a known-good remote (like #1 or #2) to isolate the fault to either the valve or the wiring/controller.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the EHR controller and the #4 remote valve for corrosion, damaged pins, shorts to ground, or open circuits.

   Attempt a lever calibration to ensure the controller is properly calibrated to the remote levers and to rule out software glitches.

   Disconnect Power

   Always disconnect the battery before servicing tractor electrical components.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic swap test and multimeter checks revealed a wiring issue, repair the broken wire or replace the affected section of the EHR control valve wire harness.

   Replace the Remote Valve Solenoid

   If the swap test proved the remote valve solenoid/powerhead is faulty, remove the defective remote valve section and install a new one.

   Replace the EHR Controller

   If the wiring is completely intact and the valve is good, the output stage driver inside the EHR controller has failed. You must replace the EHR control module or the electronic armrest control unit.

   Reassembly and Calibration

   Reconnect battery power. Clear the stored fault codes using a diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard display. Finally, perform a hydraulic remote and lever calibration procedure as specified in your specific model's service manual.
