New Holland EHR 4159 – EHR: Rear Remote No.5 - Neutral Set point

This fault code indicates that the controller has detected an issue with the neutral set point of the 5th rear remote spool valve. Technically, this means the valve's internal spool is not returning to its expected neutral (center) position, the position transducer/potentiometer is reading an out-of-range neutral value, or the valve has lost its electronic calibration.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the Rear Remote No. 5 valve for corrosion, moisture, or damaged pins.

   Ensure the spool valve is not mechanically binding due to debris or internal wear, which would prevent it from physically returning to the center/neutral position.

   Verify that the position transducer/potentiometer on the valve is not shorted or open.

   Clean Connections

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the Rear Remote No. 5 valve. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and securely reconnect the harness.

   Perform Valve Calibration

   Access the tractor's display monitor (or connect the electronic service tool) to enter the hydraulic calibration menu.

   Recalibrate the Neutral Set Point

   Initiate the EHR remote valve calibration process specifically for Remote No. 5 to allow the controller to relearn the neutral set point.

   Test Operation

   Cycle the remote valve through its functions. If the calibration completes successfully and the code clears, the issue was a lost calibration.

   Replace Faulty Components

   If the calibration fails, the spool movement is erratic, or the code immediately returns, the valve's internal position transducer or the electronic driver head is defective. Replace the electronic spool valve head or the complete remote valve assembly, and then repeat the calibration procedure.
