New Holland EHR 4177 – EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) Controller / Module: Rear Remote No.3 - Lever Not Calibrated

The electronic control system does not recognize the full range of motion (extend, retract, neutral, float) for the #3 electro-hydraulic remote (EHR) lever located in the cab armrest.

   Check for accompanying active EHR codes indicating a potentiometer open or short circuit (e.g., 4185, 4186, 4187), which indicate a hard electrical failure rather than a calibration issue.

   Ensure the #3 lever in the armrest moves smoothly through its entire physical range without binding and returns to the neutral position on its own.

   Inspect the wiring harness and PCB connectors under the armrest console for loose pins or corrosion.

   Park the tractor on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and ensure no implements are connected to the rear remotes.

   Turn the key on (engine off) and ensure all EHR levers are resting in the neutral position.

   Enter the tractor's diagnostic/calibration menu.

   Depending on the model, this is done via the IntelliView monitor (Armrest Cal) or the instrument cluster (navigating to the 'H' menu, Mode HL, or 'CAL' for the rear EHR symbol).

   Select the calibration for EHR Lever #3.

   Stroke the lever fully forward (extend/float), fully backward (retract), and let it return to neutral as commanded by the screen.

   Save the calibration.

   If the system accepts the values, the code will clear.

   Replace the lever's internal potentiometer (switch assembly) if the calibration fails repeatedly, or if the remote activates on its own without operator input.

   A lever calibration must be performed immediately after installing the new part.
