New Holland EHR 4180 – EHR: Rear Remote No.4 -Lever Not Calibrated

The electronic controller does not have a valid calibration saved for the spool travel or lever position of the 4th rear electro-hydraulic remote valve.

   Check for related electrical faults (codes 4181, 4182, 4184, 4185) which indicate a hard electrical failure that must be fixed before calibration.

   Clear spool debris by stroking the valve back and forth manually or via the controls.

   Verify valve addressing if the valve was recently replaced (must be programmed to identify as valve No. 4 on the CAN bus).

   Secure tractor

   Park the tractor on a level surface away from any obstacles. Firmly apply the parking brake and block the wheels (front and rear).

   Verify ground speed

   Ensure the tractor's ground speed display reads zero.

   Disconnect implements

   Disconnect all implements and hydraulic hoses from the rear remote couplers. Never connect an implement to a valve during calibration.

   Neutralize controls

   Make sure all EHR program switches and levers are in the OFF or neutral position.

   Install diagnostic tool

   Depending on the tractor model, install the diagnostic connector tool (e.g., special tool 380000843 or 380001903) into the diagnostic socket if required to unlock the calibration menus.

   Access calibration menu

   Access the tractor's instrument cluster or IntelliView display and navigate to the EHR calibration menu (on some clusters, this involves using the 'h', 'm', and 'dimming' keys to navigate to the 'H1' menu and selecting the rear EHR symbol until the display shows 'CAL').

   Initiate calibration

   Select rear remote valve No. 4 and initiate the calibration process.

   Retry calibration

   If the calibration fails the first time, stroke the valve back and forth for a while to free up the spool, and then attempt to calibrate the valve again.
