EHR 4192

New Holland EHR 4192 – EHR (Electronic Hitch / Remote) system: EHR 3 Offline Err

Issue description

The controller for the Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) valve #3 has lost communication with the tractor's main control network (CAN bus) and has gone offline.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland T8 Series (e.g., T8.275, T8.300, T8.320, T8.350, T8.390, T8.410, T8.435)
  • New Holland T7 Series (e.g., T7.170 through T7.315)
  • New Holland T6 Series (e.g., T6.140 through T6.175)

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector plugging directly into the #3 rear remote valve block for corrosion, moisture ingress, or backed-out pins.

  2. Verify that the EHR 3 valve is receiving proper battery voltage and has a solid ground (a loss of power will cause the module to drop offline).

  3. Check the CAN bus communication lines at the valve connector for continuity and proper network resistance (typically 60 ohms across the CAN High and CAN Low pins).

  4. Verify the condition of the EHR 3 flow control knob/potentiometer on the armrest, as failures here can sometimes disrupt the EHR circuit.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic checks revealed broken wires, chafing, or a corroded connector at the rear remote block, repair the harness or replace the pigtail connector.

  3. Replace the Valve

If power, ground, and CAN bus integrity are all confirmed to be good at the connector, the internal controller on the EHR 3 valve has failed. Remove the hydraulic lines (relieve pressure first) and unbolt the #3 EHR spool valve assembly from the rear remote stack, then install the replacement valve.

  4. Calibrate the New Valve

Reconnect the battery and power on the tractor. The 'Offline' error should clear, but the system will likely throw a new code (EHR 4218: Rear Remote No.3 - Valve Spool Not Calibrated). Use the tractor's IntelliView display or a dealer service tool to perform the EHR remote valve calibration procedure.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • EHR Flow Control Knob Potentiometer

    87663294

Alternative OEM Part # 87755846. Fitment: New Holland T6, T7, T8, and T9 series armrests.

  • Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) Spool Valve

    48138887

The exact OEM part number for the valve block varies heavily depending on the tractor model's specific hydraulic flow rate (e.g., standard vs. high-flow pumps). Verify fitment against the machine's PIN/Serial Number.
