New Holland EHR 4306 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear Remote No.6 - Over Voltage
Issue description
The voltage signal on the circuit for the #6 rear hydraulic remote valve is exceeding the maximum expected threshold. This typically points to a short to power in the wiring harness, a failed internal potentiometer/position transducer inside the valve's powerhead, or a failure in the solenoid coil that is sending excessive voltage back to the controller.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- New Holland T6 Series
- New Holland T7 Series
- New Holland T8 Series
- New Holland T9 Series
Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the #6 rear remote valve for rubbed wires, damaged pins, or corrosion that could cause a short to a 12V power source.
Perform an isolation test by swapping the electrical connector/powerhead from Remote #6 with an adjacent working remote (e.g., #5 or #1). If the fault moves to the new location, the powerhead/solenoid is internally shorted. If the code remains active for Remote #6, the issue is in the wiring harness or EHR controller.
Attempt to perform a remote lever calibration via the in-cab monitor to rule out a software glitch or voltage range error before tearing down the valve stack.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor and cycle the remote levers/switches to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the system.
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Remove the Faulty Component
Disconnect the wiring harness from the #6 rear remote valve. Depending on the specific valve design on your model, you will either unbolt the electronic powerhead/solenoid from the top of the valve section, or unbolt the entire #6 valve slice from the hydraulic stack.
Install the New Part
Mount the replacement electrohydraulic remote valve section or powerhead. Torque the tie-rod bolts to the manufacturer's specification to prevent leaks between the valve slices.
Reconnect Wiring
Plug the electrical connector back into the new valve.
Calibrate
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and navigate to the hydraulic settings in the IntelliView/Pro700 monitor. Perform the Electrohydraulic Remote Valve Calibration procedure so the EHR controller can learn the new spool's travel limits and neutral deadband.
