EHR 4310

New Holland EHR 4310 – EHR (Electronic Hitch / Electro-Hydraulic Remote): Rear Remote No.6 - Manual Operation

Issue description

The controller detects that the spool valve for rear remote #6 is being operated manually via the mechanical override on the valve body, rather than electronically from the cab. If the operator is not manually overriding the valve, this indicates a fault where the internal position transducer detects spool movement that was not commanded by the electronic controller, or the spool is physically stuck/binding.

Applies to these machines

  • T7 series
  • T8 series
  • T9 series

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the #6 remote valve section at the rear hydraulic valve stack to ensure the manual override lever/screw is not accidentally engaged, stuck, or physically binding.

  2. Verify tractor battery voltage is between 11 Volts and 15 Volts with the engine running at 2000 RPM, as voltage irregularities can cause erratic EHR spool movement.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connectors at the EHR valve for corrosion, pushed pins, or damage.

  4. Clear the error code using a diagnostic tool and test the system for normal operation to see if the code is active or just stored in history.

Repair steps

  1. Disengage Manual Override

If the manual override on the #6 remote valve was actuated, disengage it, clear the fault code, and retest.

  2. Software Update & Calibration

If the manual override is not engaged and voltage is within the normal 11V–15V range, connect the OEM diagnostic tool. Download the correct (latest) level of software into the EHR valve and run the EHR valve configuration/calibration routine.

  3. Retest

Clear the fault code and test the remote valve operation.

  4. Valve Replacement

If the fault is still present after the software update and calibration, the internal position transducer or spool mechanism has failed. You must remove and replace the Rear Remote No.6 EHR valve section.

  5. Final Configuration

After installing the replacement valve, use the diagnostic tool to configure and calibrate the new EHR valve section to the tractor's CAN-bus network.
