New Holland EHR 4324 – EHR (Electronic Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear Remote No.7 - Manual Operation
Issue description
This code indicates that the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) system has detected movement in the spool of rear remote valve #7 without receiving an electronic command from the in-cab controls. The system interprets this uncommanded spool movement as the valve being operated via its physical manual override. It can also be triggered if the spool is drifting due to internal hydraulic leaks, a sticking valve, or if the position transducer (sensor) is failing and sending a false movement signal.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- New Holland T7 series
- New Holland T8 series
- New Holland T9 series
- New Holland T7.210
- New Holland T8.330
- New Holland T8.360
Check the cause
Visually inspect the rear hydraulic valve stack (remote #7) to see if the manual override lever/knob is physically engaged, stuck, or accidentally bumped.
Inspect the position transducer on the back of the valve for damaged wiring, loose connectors, or corrosion that could cause false voltage readings.
Verify that the EHR lever or joystick for remote #7 in the cab (IntelliView armrest) is returning fully to the neutral position and is not physically sticking.
Use the tractor's display (e.g., IntelliView 12) or EHR calibration buttons to read live data for the valve, checking if the controller sees the spool in neutral, raise, lower, or float.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and cycle the remote levers to relieve all hydraulic pressure in the system.
Disengage Manual Override
If the manual override on valve #7 is engaged, return it to the neutral/electronic position. Turn the key on to see if the code clears.
Clean and Inspect Connections
Disconnect the electrical harness at the valve's position transducer. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, ensure no pins are pushed back, and reconnect.
Address Sticking Spools
If the spool is physically sticking, remove the valve cartridge. Inspect the spool and bore for scoring, metal shavings, or debris. Clean the valve body thoroughly. If the spool is damaged, the cartridge or valve section must be replaced.
Replace Faulty Components
If the wiring is good and the spool moves freely but the code persists, the position transducer or the electronic actuator head has failed and must be replaced.
Recalibrate the EHR System
After any parts are replaced or cleaned, you must perform an EHR valve calibration. This allows the controller to relearn the specific neutral, maximum extend, and maximum retract voltages for the new or cleaned spool.
