New Holland EHR 4325 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear Remote No.7 - Output Stage Faulty

Issue description

Electrical failure in the output driver circuit that controls the #7 rear electro-hydraulic remote valve. The system has detected an anomaly such as an open circuit, a short to ground, a short to power, or an internal failure within the remote valve's built-in processor or solenoid coil.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at Rear Remote Valve #7 for corrosion, moisture ingress, bent pins, or chafed wires.

  2. Use a multimeter to check the harness between the EHR controller and the #7 valve for continuity, shorts to ground, and shorts to power.

  3. Swap the electrical connector from Valve #7 with an adjacent, known-good remote valve (e.g., Valve #6). If the fault code changes to the new valve's position, the issue is internal to the #7 valve's processor/solenoid. If the fault code remains EHR 4325, the issue is in the tractor's wiring harness or the EHR controller itself.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize and Power Down

    Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery.

  2. Remove the Faulty Valve

    Disconnect the electrical connector and hydraulic lines from Rear Remote Valve #7. Unbolt the tie-rods/mounting bolts holding the valve stack together and carefully extract the #7 valve section.

  3. Install the New Valve

    Insert the replacement electro-hydraulic valve section into the stack. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications and reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical connector.

  4. Reprogram the Valve Number

    Crucial Step. Each electro-hydraulic remote valve has its own built-in processor that comes blank from the factory. You must use the tractor's in-cab display or an OEM diagnostic tool (like Jaltest or CNH EST) to program the new valve's memory so it recognizes itself as Valve No. 7 in the stack.

  5. Calibrate the Valve

    Initiate the EHR valve calibration procedure via the tractor's display to teach the system the spool's neutral, extend, and retract limits.

  6. Test

    Clear the fault codes and test the remote for proper hydraulic flow and operation.
