New Holland EHR 4328 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote) module: Rear Remote No.7 - Spool Not in Neutral When Switched On

Triggers when the system detects that the electronic spool valve for the 7th rear hydraulic remote is deflected or engaged at the exact moment the tractor's ignition is turned on, rather than resting in its default neutral/center position.

   Determine if the ignition was simply switched off while the EHR valve was still in operation (Operator Error Check).

   Check the hydraulic fluid for dirt, debris, or water (Contamination Check).

   Review the tractor's maintenance schedule to see if the hydraulic fluid and filter change intervals have been exceeded.

   Cycle the Ignition

   Ensure the in-cab remote switch/paddle for Remote No. 7 is in the neutral position. Turn the key off, wait a moment, and turn it back on. If the code was caused by shutting the tractor down while the remote was active, this will resolve it.

   Inspect the Valve

   If the code persists, locate the rear remote valve stack and specifically inspect the slice for Remote No. 7. Check if the spool is physically stuck or binding.

   Perform Fluid Maintenance

   If the spool is sticking, drain the hydraulic fluid and replace the hydraulic filters, as contamination is likely present.

   Clean or Replace the Valve

   Remove the affected EHR spool valve slice. Clean the spool to remove contaminants. If the spool is scored, damaged, or cannot be freed, the valve slice must be replaced.

   Clear and Test

   Once the mechanical issue is rectified, use a diagnostic tool to clear the EHR 4328 error code from the module, then test the hydraulic system for normal operation.
