New Holland EHR 4329 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Remote Controller) / Armrest Controller (ATC): Rear Remote No.8 - No EHR Control Messages

A CAN bus communication error indicating that the tractor's control network is no longer receiving data or control messages from the electronic spool valve module assigned to Rear Remote #8. This is typically caused by a loss of power/ground to the valve, a break in the CAN bus wiring harness, or an internal failure of the valve's electronic control circuit board.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at Rear Remote Valve #8 at the back of the tractor for moisture ingress, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.

   Using a multimeter, verify that the valve is receiving a steady 12V power supply and has a clean ground when the key is ON.

   Check the CAN High and CAN Low pins at the connector for continuity back to the EHR controller. Verify the network termination resistance (typically 60 ohms across the CAN pins with the battery disconnected).

   Swap the electrical connector of Remote #8 with an adjacent, known-good remote valve (e.g., Remote #7). Turn the key ON. If the fault code changes to the corresponding code for Remote #7 (e.g., EHR 4322), the electronic module on the valve itself has failed. If the EHR 4329 code remains, the issue is in the tractor's wiring harness or the EHR controller.

   Depressurize

   Lower all implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and cycle the remote levers/buttons to relieve all hydraulic pressure in the system.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the battery isolator switch to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove the Valve

   Disconnect the electrical harness from Rear Remote Valve #8. Unbolt the tie rods that hold the rear remote valve stack together.

   Extract and Replace

   Carefully slide out the faulty Remote #8 valve section. Ensure all O-rings between the valve slices are accounted for and removed. Insert the new remote valve section, installing brand-new O-rings between the mating surfaces to prevent hydraulic leaks.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the tie rods and torque them to the exact OEM specifications (uneven torque can cause spool binding or leaks). Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Calibration

   Power on the tractor. The new valve will not operate immediately. You must use the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop or the tractor's in-cab advanced display to perform a "Valve Spool Calibration" so the EHR controller can learn the new valve's neutral, extend, and retract parameters.
