EHR 4330

New Holland EHR 4330 – EHR (Electronic Hitch / Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear Remote No.8 - Implausible EHR Control Messages / Position Transducer Faulty

Issue description

This fault code indicates that the Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote (EHR) controller is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or implausible signal from the position transducer (potentiometer) located on the #8 rear remote valve. Because the controller cannot accurately determine the physical position of the valve's spool, it will typically disable the #8 remote valve to prevent unintended hydraulic movement.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland T8.xxx Series
  • New Holland T9 Series
  • New Holland T7000 Series (T7030, T7040, T7050, T7060)

Check the cause

  1. Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the #8 rear remote valve slice. Look for pushed-back pins, corrosion, or moisture inside the connector.

  2. Harness Continuity: Check the wiring between the EHR controller and the #8 remote valve for open circuits or shorts to ground/power.

  3. Component Swap Test: To isolate the issue, swap the position transducer (or the electrical actuator head, depending on the valve design) from the #8 remote valve with a known working remote valve (such as #7). If the fault code changes to the corresponding remote (e.g., EHR 4345 for Remote No.7), the transducer/actuator is faulty. If the code remains EHR 4330, the issue is in the tractor's wiring harness or the EHR controller itself.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Access the Valve Stack

Locate the rear remote valve stack at the rear of the tractor. Identify the #8 valve slice (valves are typically numbered from left to right or inner to outer).

  3. Disconnect Wiring

Unplug the electrical connector from the #8 remote valve actuator/transducer.

  4. Replace the Component

If the transducer is available as a separate serviceable item, unbolt it from the valve slice and install the new sensor. If the transducer is integrated into the electro-hydraulic valve head, remove the retaining bolts for the actuator head and replace the entire valve slice or actuator assembly.

  5. Reassemble

Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications and reconnect the electrical harness.

  6. Calibration

Reconnect the battery. Start the tractor and bring the hydraulic oil up to normal operating temperature. You MUST perform a remote valve calibration procedure (using the tractor's in-cab display or the CNH Electronic Service Tool) so the EHR controller can learn the new neutral, extend, and retract set points for the #8 valve.

  7. Clear Codes

Clear the inactive EHR 4330 code and test the remote valve for proper operation.
