New Holland EHR 4332 – EHR (Electronic Hitch / Electro-Hydraulic Remote): Rear Remote No.8 -Neutral Set point
Issue description
The system is unable to establish, verify, or maintain the neutral (center) resting position set point for the spool of the 8th rear remote valve. Without a valid neutral set point, the controller cannot accurately manage the electro-hydraulic functions of that specific remote valve.
Applies to these machines
2 machines- New Holland T8.xxx Series (e.g., T8.330, T8.360, T8.390, T8.420)
- New Holland T9 Series (e.g., T9.390, T9.450, T9.505, T9.560, T9.615, T9.670)
Check the cause
Check for related codes: Look for accompanying voltage or spool deflection codes for Remote No. 8 (such as EHR 4333 Under Voltage, EHR 4334 Over Voltage, or EHR 4335 Spool Deflection Too Short) to rule out a dead short or open circuit in the wiring.
Inspect wiring: Visually inspect the EHR control valve wire harness and connectors at the rear remote block for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
Verify addressing: Ensure the correct CAN address is assigned to the remote valve.
Mechanical check: Stroke the valve back and forth manually or via the controls. The valves can operate even if uncalibrated, and stroking them can help clear out internal debris or free a sticking spool.
Repair steps
Inspect physical condition
Inspect the physical condition of the No. 8 rear remote valve slice, the wiring harness, and the in-cab toggle switches.
Stroke the valve
Stroke the valve back and forth to clear any debris that might be preventing the spool from returning to its physical neutral position.
Access display monitor
Access the tractor's display monitor to perform a valve calibration. CAN-based EHR valves must be calibrated prior to use to establish their neutral set points.
Initiate calibration
Initiate the calibration process specifically for the No. 8 remote valve.
Retry calibration
If the calibration fails the first time, stroke the valve back and forth again to clear it, and retry the calibration.
Replace faulty components
If the valve repeatedly fails to calibrate its neutral set point, the internal position transducer, the valve slice itself, or the control switch may be faulty and require replacement.
