EHR 4333

New Holland EHR 4333 – EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) Control Unit: Rear Remote No.8 - Under Voltage

Issue description

The control system has detected an under-voltage condition on the circuit for Rear Remote Valve No. 8. The voltage reaching the valve's electronic driver or the feedback voltage being returned to the controller has dropped below the minimum acceptable threshold for proper operation.

Applies to these machines

  • New Holland T8.xxx Series
  • New Holland T9 Series
  • New Holland T-Series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the specific electrical connector at Rear Remote Valve No. 8 (e.g., connector C208) to ensure it is fully seated, wires are not damaged, and pins are free of corrosion or moisture.

  2. Check the wiring harness for open circuits, high resistance, or shorts to ground between the EHR controller and the remote valve.

  3. Check the tractor's overall system voltage and inspect the fuse panel for any blown fuses that supply power to the EHR system.

  4. Swap the electrical connection with an adjacent, known-good remote valve (e.g., Remote No. 7) to see if the fault code follows the valve or stays with the wiring harness to isolate an internal valve failure.

Repair steps

  1. Resolve Wiring Issues

If the diagnostic checks reveal a faulty connector or damaged harness, repair or replace the affected wiring segment.

  2. Replace the Valve (if necessary)

If the harness is intact and the valve itself is internally faulty, relieve all hydraulic system pressure and disconnect the battery. Remove the hydraulic lines and mounting bolts to extract Rear Remote Valve No. 8, then install the replacement valve.

  3. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery, power on the tractor, and clear the inactive error codes from the EHR system.

  4. Assign CAN Address

Use the tractor's display/instrumentation to reassign the remote valve address for Valve No. 8.

  5. Calibrate the Valve

Connect the special calibration tool/harness to the quick coupler on the bank of remotes and to the 6-pin diagnostic connector (often located in the right rear window duct housing). Navigate to the EHR CAL screen on the tractor's instrumentation and run the calibration procedure to establish the spool's neutral set point and flow limits. Note: Never connect an implement to a valve that has not been successfully calibrated.

  6. Final Test

Test the remote valve for normal operation to ensure the under-voltage condition is resolved.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) Valve Section

OEM part numbers vary (e.g., 86030384, 86030385 for older legacy systems; CAN-based T8/T9 valves require VIN-specific lookup).

  • EHR Calibration Tool / Harness

    380001903

Required for calibrating the CAN-based EHR valves.
