New Holland EHR 4341 – EHR (Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Remote): Rear Remote No.8 -Spool Cannot be Brought Back to Neutral
Issue description
The electronic control system has detected that the hydraulic spool valve for the 8th rear remote circuit is physically or electronically failing to return to its center (neutral) position when commanded.
Applies to these machines
1 machine- New Holland T8.xxx Series
Check the cause
Verify EHR control messages and voltage by checking for related electrical fault codes (e.g., 4104, 4105, 4106) which could prevent the spool from actuating properly.
Perform a hydraulic pressure test by placing a pressure gauge (capable of reading at least 210 bar) into the rear remote coupler and moving the lever to ensure standby pressure is achieved.
Verify cylinder hydraulic hoses are properly connected to the appropriate rear remote valve and that the tractor engine is at normal operating speed.
Repair steps
Access the rear remote valve stack
Access the rear remote valve stack at the back of the tractor.
Isolate Rear Remote Valve No. 8
Isolate Rear Remote Valve No. 8.
Inspect the electronic actuator/solenoid
Inspect the electronic actuator/solenoid responsible for moving the spool for signs of failure, shorting, or mechanical binding.
Check the physical spool valve
Check the physical spool valve for debris, scoring, or mechanical sticking that prevents the return spring/actuator from centering the spool.
Replace the faulty solenoid or remote valve section
Replace the faulty solenoid or the entire remote valve section if internal mechanical binding is present.
