EHR 4344

New Holland EHR 4344 – EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) Controller: Rear Remote No.6 - Lever Not Calibrated

Issue description

The system's controller has lost or never learned the specific potentiometer voltage values for the physical in-cab control lever assigned to rear hydraulic remote valve #6. Because the system does not know the lever's exact position for Neutral, Extend, Retract, and Float, it disables the electronic control for that specific remote to prevent unintended hydraulic movement.

Applies to these machines

  • T6 series
  • T7 series
  • T8 series
  • T9 series
  • T8.320
  • T8.390
  • T8.410
  • T9.390
  • T9.670

Check the cause

  1. Verify if the EHR lever, the EHR controller, or the armrest module was recently replaced, updated, or flashed, which naturally results in a loss of calibration

  2. Check for accompanying active EHR fault codes on Remote No. 6 (such as under/over voltage, open circuits, or communication errors). If a circuit code is present, resolve the electrical fault before attempting calibration

  3. Swap the electrical connection of lever #6 with a known good lever (e.g., lever #5) to isolate a faulty lever potentiometer. If the fault follows the lever, the lever has failed; if it stays with the #6 circuit, there is a wiring harness or controller issue

Repair steps

  1. Access calibration menu

Turn the key on and access the tractor's calibration menu (often accessed via the IntelliView display or by entering the "H1 Calibration Mode" on the instrument cluster).

  2. Select calibration procedure

Select the EHR remote valve lever calibration procedure.

  3. Move lever through full range

Move the Rear Remote No. 6 lever through its full range of motion (Maximum Extend, Maximum Retract, and Float) as prompted by the display.

  4. Save set points

Return the lever to the Neutral position to save the set points.

  5. Retry calibration if failed

If the calibration fails the first time, stroke the lever back and forth several times to clear any debris or oxidation off the internal potentiometer contacts, then retry the calibration.

  6. Replace lever assembly

If the lever repeatedly fails to calibrate, the internal potentiometer is defective. Replace the EHR control lever assembly and repeat steps 1-4.
