Issue description
The system has detected that the feedback voltage from the position sensor on EHR Remote Valve #1 is too high (typically exceeding 4.5V). This indicates a short circuit to a high voltage source (such as a 5V reference or 12V battery power) on the sensor's signal circuit, or an internal failure of the valve's position sensor or in-cab potentiometer.

Check the cause
Monitor Live Data: Use a diagnostic tool or the tractor's display monitor to view the live feedback voltage for Remote Valve 1. Confirm if the voltage is pegged high (above 4.5V).
Harness Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness connecting EHR Valve 1 (usually the first slice in the rear remote stack) to the EHR controller. Look for rubbed, pinched, or melted wires that could cause the signal wire to short to a 5V or 12V power wire.
Disconnect Test: Disconnect the electrical connector at EHR Valve 1. If the live voltage reading drops, the short is internal to the valve's spool position sensor. If the voltage remains high, the short to power is in the wiring harness between the valve and the controller.
In-Cab Controls Check: Check the EHR flow control knob potentiometer and the EHR control lever on the armrest console. A shorted in-cab potentiometer can sometimes force the feedback circuit out of range.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.
Repair Wiring (If Applicable)
If the diagnostic disconnect test revealed a harness short, locate the damaged section of the wiring harness. Splice and heat-shrink the damaged wires, or replace the affected harness section.
Replace the EHR Valve / Sensor (If Applicable)
If the valve's internal sensor is shorted, relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system. Disconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical connector from EHR Valve 1. Unbolt the valve slice from the rear remote stack and install the replacement EHR valve. Re-torque the tie rods on the valve stack to OEM specifications and reconnect the hydraulic lines.
Replace Armrest Controls (If Applicable)
If the fault was traced to the cab controls, remove the armrest console cover, unplug the faulty flow control potentiometer or control lever, and snap the new unit into place.
Reassemble and Power Up
Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition on.
Calibration
You must perform the EHR valve calibration procedure using the tractor's display monitor or a diagnostic tool. This allows the TCU to learn the minimum and maximum voltage sweeps of the new valve or potentiometer.
