EHR 4354

New Holland EHR 4354 – EHR (Electronic Hitch Registry / Electronic Hydraulic Remote) Controller: EHR FB 1 Low Err

Issue description

Feedback channel 1 for the Electronic Hydraulic Remote (EHR) or Electronic Hitch Registry system is detecting a voltage that is too low. Specifically, the sensor feedback voltage has dropped below the minimum threshold of 0.25 V.

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the Tractor Control Unit (TCU) connector (C066) and the implement interface/potentiometer connector (C686).

  2. Ensure connectors are fully seated, undamaged, and pins are in the correct position with a tight fit.

  3. Check the sensor feedback voltage. If reading below 0.25 V, check the harness for a short to ground or an open circuit.

  4. If multiple remotes are present, temporarily swap connections to see if the fault follows the valve/potentiometer or stays with the wiring harness.

Repair steps

  1. Access the EHR Pod/Armrest

Gain access to the EHR flow control knobs and potentiometers located on the electronic draft control section of the armrest unit.

  2. Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

If the diagnostic checks revealed a short to a low voltage source or a broken wire in the harness between the TCU and the EHR valve/potentiometer, repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring harness.

  3. Replace the Potentiometer

If the wiring and connectors are intact, the implement interface (potentiometer) itself has failed internally. Disconnect the faulty potentiometer and install the replacement OEM part.

  4. Reassemble and Calibrate

Reconnect all harnesses. Turn the tractor on and clear the stored fault codes. You must perform an EHR calibration procedure (hitch/remote valve calibration) via the tractor's display monitor to ensure the new potentiometer is recognized and the spool valves return to neutral correctly.
