New Holland EHR 4356 – EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) Controller / Module: EHR FB 3 Low Err

The tractor's system is detecting that the sensor feedback voltage for the 3rd remote valve is less than 0.25 V, which typically points to a short to ground, an open circuit, or a completely failed position sensor. This causes the 3-point hitch to be disabled.

   Locate the 3rd remote valve slice at the rear of the tractor

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting to the position/feedback sensor on the 3rd remote valve for rubbed, pinched, or broken wires

   Use a multimeter to verify the sensor feedback voltage at the connector (fault triggers when voltage drops below 0.25 V)

   Check the harness connectors for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or moisture ingress

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and relieve any hydraulic pressure in the system.

   Access the Valve Stack

   Access the rear remote valve stack and locate the specific slice for Remote #3.

   Harness Repair

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a pinched or rubbed wire (a very common cause for the <0.25V short-to-low source error), repair the damaged section of the wiring harness.

   Sensor/Valve Replacement

   If the wiring and connectors are intact and providing proper reference voltage but the feedback remains below 0.25 V, the internal position sensor (potentiometer) on the remote valve has failed. Replace either the remote valve position sensor or the entire remote valve slice (if the sensor is non-serviceable/integrated).

   Recalibrate

   After replacing the sensor or valve, use the tractor's display or a diagnostic tool to recalibrate the EHR remote valves.

   Clear Codes & Test

   Clear the EHR 4356 code and verify that the 3-point hitch and remote #3 are fully operational.
