New Holland EHR 4358 – EHR (Electronic Hitch Regulation): EHR Implement Raise Error

The system has detected a malfunction or inability to properly execute a raise command for the rear implement via the Electronic Hitch Regulation (EHR) system.

   Check the hitch raise solenoid circuits to verify if the high-side driver is shorted to 12 volts, shorted to ground, or has an open circuit

   Inspect the rockshaft position potentiometer to ensure it is operating within its normal voltage range

   Ensure there are no CAN-BUS communication issues between the EHR controller, the TCU, and the Armrest controller

   Verify that the PTO cab switch, Auto PTO switch, or remote fender switches are not stuck or shorted during tractor power-up

   Locate the EHR control valve block

   Locate the EHR control valve block at the rear of the tractor.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the hitch raise solenoid for chafing, corrosion, or broken pins.

   Test the resistance of the hitch raise solenoid coil

   Use a multimeter to test the resistance of the hitch raise solenoid coil and check for continuity back to the EHR controller.

   Remove and replace the hitch raise solenoid valve

   If the wiring is intact but the solenoid fails testing (or is mechanically stuck), remove and replace the hitch raise solenoid valve.

   Clear the fault codes

   Clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool or DTC eraser.

   Perform a hitch calibration procedure

   Perform a hitch calibration procedure to ensure the EHR module learns the new valve parameters and rockshaft limits.
