   Inspect the 3-pin electrical connector at the hand throttle potentiometer for corrosion, backed-out pins, or physical damage.

   Disconnect the potentiometer. Turn the ignition ON (engine off). Use a multimeter to verify that the connector is receiving a steady 5V reference signal and has a solid ground from the Engine Controller.

   Check the signal wire for continuity between the potentiometer connector and the Engine Controller harness.

   Test the signal wire to ensure it is not chafed and shorting out against the tractor's chassis/ground.

   If the wiring is good, measure the resistance across the potentiometer pins while slowly moving the hand throttle lever. The resistance should change smoothly and linearly. If the reading drops out to zero (dead spots) or shows an open circuit, the potentiometer is faulty.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Sensor

   Remove the interior cab trim panels or side console cover required to access the base of the hand throttle lever assembly.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the 3-terminal electrical connector from the hand throttle potentiometer.

   Remove the Sensor

   Remove the mounting screws or retaining pins securing the potentiometer to the throttle linkage/actuator frame. Carefully slide the old sensor off the linkage shaft.

   Install the New Sensor

   Slide the new potentiometer onto the linkage, ensuring the physical keyway/slot aligns correctly with the throttle lever shaft so it can accurately translate physical movement into resistance.

   Secure and Reconnect

   Reinstall the mounting hardware and plug the 3-pin electrical connector back in.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the cab console and trim panels.

   Test and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key ON and use your diagnostic tool or the tractor's instrument cluster to clear the ENG 132 fault code. Start the tractor and verify smooth engine RPM response without hesitation when using the hand throttle. (Note: Some models may require a brief throttle calibration procedure via the instrument cluster menu to learn the new minimum/maximum voltage limits).
