New Holland ENG 1807 – ENGINE: Burner Glow Voltage: Out of Voltage - Low

This code indicates that the voltage supplied to the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) burner glow plug (ignitor) is below the expected threshold. If the voltage is too low, the glow plug cannot reach the required temperature, preventing the exhaust system from regenerating and eventually leading to a clogged DPF.

   Check the DPF Burner Relay: Test the relay for proper function and ensure it is sending voltage when commanded.

   Inspect the Wiring Harness: Check the wiring harness and connectors between the Engine ECU, the burner relay, and the burner glow plug. Look for open circuits, shorts to ground, frayed wires, or corrosion at the connectors.

   Test the Glow Plug Resistance: Disconnect the glow plug and measure its resistance using a multimeter. A healthy glow plug should have very low resistance (typically between 0.6 and 2.0 ohms). If the multimeter reads no continuity (open circuit) or extremely high resistance, the glow plug is burnt out and must be replaced.

   Verify System Voltage: Ensure the machine's battery and alternator are providing adequate system voltage, as low overall voltage can trigger this code.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the Burner Assembly

   Locate the DOC/DPF (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst / Diesel Particulate Filter) exhaust unit. The burner assembly is mounted to this unit.

   Disconnect the Plug

   Locate "Burner glow plug one" connected to the top of the burner chamber and carefully disconnect its electrical connector.

   Remove the Glow Plug

   Unthread and remove the faulty burner glow plug from the burner assembly.

   Thread the new glow plug into the burner assembly and tighten to OEM torque specifications. Reconnect the electrical connector.

   Reconnect the negative battery cable.
