New Holland ENG 2117 – Engine Controller: Engine Coolant Level is low. Add coolant fluid

   Visually inspect the engine coolant reservoir to verify if the physical fluid level is actually low.

   Check the machine's diagnostic display for related sensor fault codes (e.g., ENG 422), which would point to an electrical failure rather than a fluid leak.

   Inspect the coolant level sensor (located on the reservoir) and its wiring harness for physical damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

   Allow engine to cool

   Allow the engine to cool completely to avoid injury from hot, pressurized coolant.

   Add coolant

   Open the coolant reservoir and add the OEM-specified coolant fluid until it reaches the recommended fill line.

   Verify code clears

   Turn on the machine to verify if the ENG 2117 code clears automatically.

   Diagnose persistent code

   If the fluid level is correct but the code persists, the coolant level sensor or its wiring harness is likely faulty and must be replaced.

   Replace sensor

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor, unthread or unclip the old sensor from the reservoir, and install the replacement sensor.

   Confirm repair

   Reconnect the wiring harness, clear the fault codes from the Engine Controller, and run the engine to confirm the repair.
