ENG 219

New Holland ENG 219 – ENG: Oil Level - remote reservoir is too low. Add oil.

Issue description

The fluid level inside the engine's remote oil reservoir has dropped below the minimum safe operating threshold, triggering a warning system alert.

Applies to these machines

  • TM
  • TN
  • T-series
  • CR9090
  • CX8080
  • CX8090 Elevation series

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the actual oil level in the remote reservoir to confirm if the fluid is genuinely low.

  2. Inspect the remote reservoir, connecting oil lines, and surrounding engine components for any visible leaks that could be causing the fluid loss.

  3. If the oil level is physically full but the code remains active, inspect the remote reservoir oil level sensor and its wiring harness for damage, corrosion, disconnected plugs, or a short/open circuit.

Repair steps

  1. Locate reservoir

Locate the remote oil reservoir on the machine.

  2. Add oil

Add the specified engine oil to the remote reservoir until it reaches the correct "Full" level.

  3. Clean spills

Clean up any spilled fluids to ensure environmental compliance and to make it easier to spot future leaks.

  4. Cycle ignition

Cycle the machine's ignition key to see if the Engine controller clears the ENG 219 code.

  5. Troubleshoot electrical circuit

If the code persists despite a full reservoir, troubleshoot the electrical circuit. Test the remote reservoir oil level sensor for proper resistance/voltage. If the sensor is sending an inaccurate reading to the Engine ECU, replace the sensor and repair any damaged wiring.
