New Holland ENG 3001 – Engine ECU (Engine Control Module): Foot Throttle Sensor - Signal Not Plausible
Issue description
This code triggers when the two signals from the accelerator pedal do not match, meaning the control unit cannot determine the true position of the throttle.
Applies to these machines

- T7 series
- T8 series
- Workmaster series
- Workmaster 50
- Workmaster 70
- TS6 series

Check the cause
Check the foot pedal area for physical obstructions, packed dirt, or debris that might prevent the pedal from moving smoothly through its full range of motion.
Inspect the wiring harness connecting the foot throttle sensor to the Engine ECU for chafed wires, rodent damage, or pinched lines. Disconnect the sensor and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or poor terminal tension.
Using a multimeter or a diagnostic scan tool (like the CNH Electronic Service Tool), monitor the voltage of both throttle position circuits while slowly depressing the pedal. The voltages should scale smoothly without dropping out. If the voltages are erratic or one circuit is dead, the sensor is faulty.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the machine on a level surface, turn off the engine, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Sensor
Locate the foot throttle pedal assembly on the cab floor. Depending on the model, you may need to remove a protective kick panel or floor mat.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical harness connector from the foot throttle sensor.
Removal
Unbolt the mounting hardware securing the pedal assembly or the sensor bracket to the floor/firewall. Remove the faulty unit.
Installation
Mount the new foot throttle sensor or pedal assembly and tighten the hardware to OEM specifications.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical harness back into the new sensor, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
Calibration & Clearing
Turn the key to the ON position. Use a diagnostic tool to clear the inactive ENG 3001 fault code. Some models may require a throttle pedal calibration routine via the dashboard menu or the CNH EST software to learn the new minimum and maximum voltage values.
