   Verify operating environment, as extreme high-altitude operation can sometimes trigger this code erroneously.

   Check system voltage, ensuring the main battery voltage and ECU ground connections are clean and secure to rule out voltage spikes or poor grounds.

   Clear the code using a diagnostic tool and retest; if it immediately returns as active, the internal sensor has failed permanently.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the machine's battery power (negative cable first) to prevent electrical arcing.

   Locate ECU

   Locate the Engine Controller (ECU) on the engine block or firewall.

   Disconnect wiring

   Carefully disconnect the main wiring harness connectors from the ECU.

   Remove ECU

   Unbolt and remove the defective Engine Controller.

   Install replacement ECU

   Install the replacement Engine Controller and securely reconnect the wiring harnesses.

   Reconnect battery

   Reconnect the battery.

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port and follow the appropriate service tool procedure to restore self-learning parameters and program the new ECU to the specific machine.
