The main power relay that supplies voltage to the Electronic Diesel Control (EDC) / Engine Controller is mechanically stuck in the closed position (the internal contacts are welded shut), or the ECU is detecting voltage on the Terminal 30 circuit when the relay is supposed to be commanded off.

   Locate the EDC Main Power Relay: Find the main engine controller relay in the machine's primary fuse/relay box (often labeled as 'Main Relay [ECU]' or 'EDC Relay').

   Bench Test the Relay: Remove the relay and test for continuity across the load terminals (typically pins 30 and 87) while the relay is unpowered. If there is continuity, the relay is internally stuck closed and must be replaced.

   Inspect the Socket & Harness: Check the relay socket for signs of melting, heat damage, or corrosion.

   Check for Shorts: If the relay tests fine, use a multimeter to check the ECU supply line (Terminal 30 circuit) for a short to battery voltage in the wiring harness.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.

   Remove the Faulty Relay

   Pull the stuck EDC Main Power Relay from the fuse/relay panel.

   Clean the Contacts

   If the socket shows minor corrosion or debris, clean the terminals with electrical contact cleaner. (If the socket is melted, the harness/pigtail will need to be repaired).

   Install the Replacement

   Plug the new OEM 12V main power relay into the socket, ensuring it is seated firmly.

   Restore Power

   Reconnect the negative battery cable.

   Clear the Code

   Use a diagnostic tool or CAN-bus DTC eraser to clear the ENG 3059 fault code from the Engine ECU.

   Verify Repair

   Cycle the key and start the engine to ensure the code does not return and the machine powers down correctly when turned off.
