New Holland ENG 3120 – Engine Control Module (ECM) / EDC7: PTO Twist Sensor - Not Plausible

The signal being sent from the Power Take-Off (PTO) twist/torque sensor to the controller is outside of the expected operational range, or the reading does not logically correlate with other engine and transmission parameters.

   Check the PTO twist sensor for physical damage or incorrect installation

   Inspect the chassis wire harness and the 3-pin connector (ZED AMP Superseal 1.5 3-way) leading to the sensor for corrosion, pushed pins, or wire chafing

   Verify if other related circuit codes are present (3121 for Open Circuit, 3122 for Short to Ground, 3123 for Not Calibrated) to narrow down the electrical fault

   Determine if the sensor was recently disturbed or if the tractor experienced a voltage drop, which may have caused it to lose its calibration values

   Resolve Wiring Issues

   If the 3-pin connector or harness is damaged, splice in a new connector pigtail or repair the harness.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the wiring is intact but the signal remains implausible, remove the retaining hardware (typically an M8 x 25mm hex socket screw) and replace the PTO torque/twist sensor.

   Perform PTO Twist Sensor Calibration

   Access the H8 Menu on the instrument cluster. Navigate until the display shows 'Pt'. Press and hold the downshift button to initiate calibration. Continue holding until the display alternates between 'Pt' and the new calibration value. Release the button and cycle the key to save.
